The term "check please" was used frequently in an 80's sitcom, but which one?

I work with a guy that likes to use the term "Check please" whenever something awkward or suggestive is said. He says that he got the term from a sitcom in the 80's, because one or more of the characters would use it as a punchline. Does anyone know which sitcom this might be?
