Why is my rat(s) doing this?

This is probably because the older rat is trying to get used to the younger rat's smell. This happened when my brother bought a girl rat and the boy kept sniffing her behind. The boy rat isn't sniffing her behind anymore. Mostly, all rats need to get used to the other rats smell. This is normal.
